Marija Cicirello
After finishing high school, Marija began her career in dentistry as a dental nurse. She spent several years in this role and quickly discovered her passion for oral health care. What truly inspired her, however, was watching the work of dental hygienists and therapists — their blend of patient care, precision, and education resonated deeply with her. From that moment, she knew becoming a dental hygienist was the right path.
Marija went on to study at Curtin University, where she completed her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1999. After graduating, she joined a Perth-based dental practice where she spent 18 years honing her skills and building lasting relationships with patients. She later worked across several other clinics before finding her home at 123 Dental.
As a dental hygienist, Marija’s daily work includes performing professional teeth cleaning, taking X-rays, and creating impressions for mouthguards and splints. She also ensures every treatment room and instrument is fully prepared, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control. Marija takes pride in helping even the most anxious patients feel at ease in the dental chair. Her gentle approach and calm communication style have helped countless patients, especially children, feel comfortable and confident about their oral health. For Marija, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing patients leave with cleaner teeth, brighter smiles, and genuine trust in their dental care.
Marija enjoys working alongside the supportive team at 123 Dental. She appreciates the clinic’s flexible, understanding approach and the positive culture that makes even the busiest days enjoyable. Outside of work, Marija is a proud mum of two boys. Between family life and her career, she stays active and prioritises regular exercise to unwind and maintain balance.
